CFUW is a grass-roots organization that advocates for public policy based on the resolutions adopted by member Clubs at Annual General Meetings. For over a century, our organization has advocated for women’s rights.
CFUW has a special consultative status with the United Nations Social and
Economic Council.
CFUW members strive to:
- bring about change on those issues important to gender equity,
- promote early learning and childcare,
- support access to education,
- ensure economic prosperity and the empowerment of women as leaders and decision-makers, and
- end violence against women and children.
The Advocacy Committee of CFUW Richmond meets monthly to discuss issues that arise in our community, provincially, nationally, and internationally, and particularly those that affect women and children.
